Biographical Info: Someone asked me why you write… Why and for whom…what is the purpose…I really looked within… Does everything has to have a purpose or is it just supposed to be as a part of the whole… Is it not the higher cause working through you…why do people keep looking for motives or purpose… Why do we have to figure it all out… A bee is fed… everything serves a purpose knowingly or unknowingly…in nature nothings asks…all entities are doing their bit… The self in me which provides me with everything, guides me to write and something in you wants to read it… So let us do our bits and keep filling the gaps and connecting the chains… Do not question… Just do it… As I started sharing my thoughts on social media, I came across many people who just needed a word of positivity…a reference to something or some event which made them feel that they are not alone…or something to look forward to at the end of the day…this made me realize the power of right words…the power of saying things simply… “If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough.” – Albert Einstein.
Q1.Hi Vashi, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself and your background?
Ans : Many thanks for providing me this platform. I am an author and JUST A THOUGHT is my first book. I have worked in several arenas like IT and Publishing as well as Management. Had travelled a lot and had a chance to see many cultures and meet many people. In the end I could summarize that we all are looking for love, while we forget we are love personified.
Q2.Your every readers and me also wanted to know, Do you write every single day?
Ans: Yes, I do. No matter how busy I am or whatever the situation may be. I do write each day. It is like a discipline to me or you can say more of a meditation to me. I am very much at peace when I am writing.
Q3. How did you begin writing? Did you intend to become an author, or do you have a specific reason or reasons for writing each book?
Ans: I was very young when I started writing. It was more like a hobby. But with time I realised that right words can make a difference. Not for me as well as the one who is reading them. Good work will bring you success, money and fame. But the biggest achievement is when your work makes a difference in someone’s life. That is what I call success.
Q4. Do you meet your readers at book signings, conventions, or similar events?
Ans: Yes, I love meeting and talking to my readers. I always ask for their feedback and opinions. It helps me self reflect later when I am writing. Not to forget, when they appreciate it acts like a boost to write more concrete stuff.
Q5. What was an early experience where you learned that language had power?
Ans: When few years back I made my fb page vashiandwords to post my write ups. I was never too sure that people would read but then I started getting likes and comments. People started waiting for my posts and then they came back to me with things like that a simple writeup of mine made a lot of difference in their day. Or they could actually feel good reading it.
Q6. If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
Ans: Nice question. Wish it was possible. I wouldn’t miss the chance. I would ask her to believe in herself and focus on all the beautiful possibilities. I would tell her that one step at a time and with dedication can take you places. I would tell her to keep on writing. No second thoughts.
Q7. Tell us some more about your book.
Ans: My book JUST A THOUGHT is a self help and motivational book. It gives you hope that life is beautiful and the best person who can help yourself is you. This book gives you the message that right thoughts can change your day and your life.
Q8. How long on average does it take you to write a book?
Ans: It depends on the subject. I feel at peace sharing my experiences of life and I love writing so I never feel that I am working. So it never feels like I am working. Love what you do and you will never feel you are working for a day.
Q9. What was your hardest scene to write?
Ans: The hardest thing in doing anything like writing or painting is to convince yourself to start doing it and then finish what you started. Rest it all gets taken care of.
Q10. Any last thoughts for our readers?
Ans: I would like to say that thoughts are things. They can make you or break you. You have to decide whether your thoughts control your life or you control your thoughts.
Thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy schedule to take part in this interview.
